EDFAction launched new online ads today calling out Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk for supporting efforts to block the Clean Power Plan. The resolution supported by Kirk action would allow power plants to spew unlimited amounts of climate pollution into our air.

The ads, which can be seen here, question why Sen. Kirk supports more pollution, more asthma attacks, and a loophole for polluters, stating, “He’s trying to block limits on climate pollution. That means more asthma attacks and climate change.”

The ads will run on websites in Illinois and Washington, D.C.

“The Clean Power Plan put the first-ever national limits on climate pollution from power plants. Sen. Kirk voted to undo that vital protection for Americans’ health and safety, and go back to allowing unlimited pollution,” said EDFAction president Elizabeth Thompson. “We need our leaders in Congress to move America toward a safer, healthier clean energy future. Sen. Kirk’s opposition to these clean air rules is the wrong choice for Illinois families.”
