Statement from EDF Action’s David Kieve on Electric Vehicles

WASHINGTON, D.C - EDF Action President David Kieve released the following statement during the second Republican presidential primary debate: “Donald Trump and the other Republican candidates somehow think U.S. companies and workers can compete globally by going in reverse. The transition to electric vehicles is already happening, and automakers are going all-in. We cannot cede this rapidly growing market to China. The U.S. will not be competitive a decade from now if we follow the Republicans’ doubling-down on gas-powered vehicles. It’s a losing hand.”
