(Washington, D.C. – April 6, 2016) Environmental Defense Action Fund (EDFAction) is launching a campaign to support former Pennsylvania Environment Secretary Katie McGinty’s primary bid for the U.S. Senate.

The program starts today, beginning with a series of mailers to Pennsylvania families, and will run through the primary election.

“No candidate for the United States Senate has a stronger record of environmental advocacy and achievement than Katie McGinty. She knows that Pennsylvania families care about a healthy environment, and she’s making clean energy a priority in her campaign,” said Elizabeth Thompson, President of EDFAction. “Katie has laid out ambitious goals to create thousands of clean energy jobs and protect our kids from the threat of climate change. In this year of political turmoil, we need a strong, steady environmental leader like Katie McGinty fighting for us in the U.S. Senate.”

The seven piece program will be sent to more than 145,000 households, reaching likely Democratic Primary voters across the state. The mailers highlight McGinty’s impressive environmental advocacy record, engaging biography and plans to make clean energy jobs a top priority in the U.S. Senate. Two mailers are planned for the week of April 4th, three the week of April 11th and two the week prior to the primary date.
