(WASHINGTON, D.C- October 2, 2019) Today, EDF Action released a new poll on how Vice President Mike Pence would shape up in a 2020 matchup and how his role in an anti-environment administration could impact such an election. Pence and his anti-climate views are extremely unpopular with voters. The poll also revealed that a large majority of voters, including independents and Republicans, are very concerned about the Trump Administration’s environmental policies and believe that Congress should investigate the appointment of lobbyists to top environmental positions in the government.

Here is the full memo.

“This polling shows voters’ concerns about the Trump Administration unscrupulous actions, such as appointing lobbyists to key posts, extends to Vice President Mike Pence,” said Joe Bonfiglio, president of EDF Action. “Americans — including Republicans and independents — believe Congress should be aggressive in its oversight and investigations. As Members of Congress pursue other serious issues, they shouldn’t forget that the Trump Administration has been essentially allowing lobbyists to run the government, giving industry free reign over the EPA and other agencies. This is a message to Members of Congress of both parties that voters won’t stand for it.”
