(Washington, D.C., August 5, 2022) EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, announced the placement of a new $1 million national TV buy that highlights the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act, including lower energy and drug costs for families, more good jobs and significant progress toward President Biden’s climate goals.

EDF Action has also produced new radio spots, which will run both inside the Beltway and in key markets around the country, which highlight the new support the Inflation Reduction Act has earned from five former Secretaries of the Treasury.

Additionally, EDF Action and EDF are up with nearly $500,000 in additional paid media in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Montana, Nevada and West Virginia urging Congress to pass this critical legislation.

This new support for bold climate action is additive to the $8.5 million EDF Action has already spent on television, digital, and radio advertising in support of bold climate action. Total spending to date to advocate for bold climate action has now exceeded $10 million. EDF Action has been among the most active groups in support of the bold climate agenda.

“Now is the time to act. Americans all across the country are feeling the pain at the pump and the impacts of inflation, and we need to take meaningful action. Senator Manchin, Senator Schumer and President Biden have all come together with a historic climate deal that truly puts families front-and-center. It focuses on lowering costs for hard working Americans while creating clean energy jobs and tackling the climate emergency head on,” said EDF Action President David Kieve. “Congress must seize this opportunity to improve our lives, protect our planet and strengthen our economy. And we will be here every step of the way to ensure this important bill becomes law.”
