The Biden Administration announced its plan to kickstart widespread construction of electric vehicle charging stations across the United States today, by distributing $5 billion from the bipartisan infrastructure law passed by Congress last year to all 50 states.

“This announcement demonstrates that clean energy investments deliver for America,” said Elizabeth Gore, EDF Action Senior Vice President, Political Affairs. “Building out a national network of charging stations will mean less pollution, more jobs and cleaner cars. It will also allow more Americans to skip paying at the pump by making electric vehicles a practical choice for more working families.

We now need Congress and the President to continue investing in our economy by passing major clean energy investments – to power the millions of electric trucks, buses and cars that will be built in America in the years ahead.

“We thank President Biden for quickly moving these funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to support all our communities.”
