House Passage of Critical Reform Packages Strengthens Democracy

(Washington D.C., March 4, 2021) EDF Action President Joe Bonfiglio released the following statement on the U.S. House of Representatives passing the For the People Act (H.R.1):

“We’re thrilled the House took the first step in strengthening our democracy — expanding access to the polls and curbing the influence of polluter money in our political process. We know that when every person’s vote is counted and every voice is heard, our democracy is stronger and we can make real and lasting environmental progress that benefits everyone in our country.

“We’re urging the Senate to quickly take up this important package of comprehensive democracy reforms, to ensure that by the next election, voters will be able to easily cast their vote safely and securely.”
