At EDF Action, we’re listening and learning about where the American people are on clean energy and climate – and acting on that.

Polling conducting for EDF Action in mid-2025 indicated that voters by a 2-to-1 margin objected to President Trump’s tax bill that would gut Medicaid and clean energy to prop up fossil fuels. This data helped inform our efforts to defend clean energy including solar and wind, mission critical to the grid since the vast majority of new energy generation is clean energy.

Our messaging continues to lean into a clean energy future as we speak to the electorate in key states that are the backbone of clean energy. We were quoted in the Des Moines Register, where wind powers roughly three-fifths of the state’s electricity needs. In Raleigh, North Carolina, the News & Observer quoted us on clean energy including the battery technology on which the state has become a major player. We also contributed to a piece in the National Catholic Reporter’s “Earthbeat” on solar-powered churches in our communities, a move toward renewables that will struggle as tax credits for renewable energy are phased out.

Across the country, we will continue to hold elected officials accountable to constituents that deserve to be represented on climate and clean energy. It’s reasonable for Americans to want lower electric bills, lower insurance costs and less pollution and it’s a clean energy future that will power that. Our ads holding Members of Congress accountable to the people will continue to appear on television and digital platforms in key districts, in English and Spanish, ahead of the 2026 midterm elections because representation matters.
