WASHINGTON, DC, August 6, 2024 – “In a matter of days, Vice President Kamala Harris rallied support across the country as she has injected enthusiasm into the presidential campaign with a plan to fight – and win – and help secure the freedoms we all hold dear. In choosing Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, Vice President Harris has made an inspired choice: an effective leader who has worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents in Minnesota and has proven himself time and again as a climate champion. Gov. Walz is a staunch supporter of the Biden-Harris administration’s clean energy plan, a $369 billion investment which to date has created over 300,000 good-paying, family-sustaining jobs. Already, the plan is helping to lower consumer energy costs while cleaning the air we all breathe.

Walz, a former high school teacher, did his homework to help secure passage of Minnesota’s Climate Action Framework, which hews to the goals of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as it targets emissions reductions of 50 percent by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.
