Rep. Chris Pappas, State and Small Business Leaders Highlight Climate and Clean Energy Investments During Roundtable at Solar-Powered Brewery

North Hampton, New Hampshire – Congressman Chris Pappas joined EDF Action and the League of Conservation Voters for a business roundtable to discuss how the Inflation Reduction Act is providing critical support for small businesses to accelerate New Hampshire’s transition to clean energy. At the event, the speakers discussed how the year-old Inflation Reduction Act is already helping businesses cut energy costs, create good-paying jobs and switch to clean energy.

New Hampshire is home to 137,811 small businesses, representing 99% of all businesses in the state, and the Inflation Reduction Act will help them save money by reducing energy costs. With tax credits to improve building energy efficiency, install rooftop solar, and purchase less-polluting commercial vehicles, available now through 2032, small businesses in New Hampshire have the ability to save money while helping the transition to a clean economy.

Rep. Pappas toured the brewery after the roundtable to learn about Throwback Brewery’s sustainability practices, including their rooftop solar system that generates low-cost electricity for the business year-round.

The Inflation Reduction Act made critical investments in renewable energy that are lowering energy bills, making us more energy independent, and reducing emissions that contribute to climate change,” said Congressman Pappas. “Today I heard from New Hampshire small businesses about how these clean energy provisions are giving them the tools they need to transition to cleaner energy sources that also achieve energy savings, strengthen our economy, and create jobs. We must continue to address climate change and support New Hampshire’s Main Street economy, and I will continue to advocate for solutions that will support these goals.”
