Support farmers: Back a climate-smart farm bill

America’s farmers and ranchers are on the frontlines of climate impacts — and at the forefront of climate solutions. Many are already taking action to adopt conservation practices that have climate benefits. For example, some farmers are using fertilizer more precisely, capturing methane from manure and boosting soil health.

Farmers and ranchers from across the country are calling on Congress to pass a climate-smart farm bill that empowers producers to expand their conservation efforts.

The 2024 farm bill is a significant opportunity to provide more financial and technical assistance to accelerate this transition. Now is the time to support producers and their livelihoods by:

  1. Investing in popular conservation programs that historically have had to turn farmers away due to limited funding. Increased funding means more farmers and ranchers can get support and be rewarded for their leadership.
  2. Ensuring enhanced funding for these programs empowers producers to lower emissions, build resilience to more extreme growing conditions, and innovate in the face of a changing climate to keep our food supply safe and affordable.
