Tackling pollution and energy costs helped push Abdul El-Sayed to victory in Michigan

EDF Action Votes ran a $1.5 million digital campaign supporting Abdul El-Sayed’s election to the U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON, DC, November 3, 2026 – “EDF Action congratulates Dr. Abdul El-Sayed on winning election to the U.S. Senate,” said David Kieve, president of EDF Action. “As a physician and public health official, Abdul El-Sayed worked to keep Michiganders’ healthy and safe and that includes fighting for clean air and water. He is committed to an energy transition that prioritizes cheaper, cleaner renewables over the polluting sources of the past that have done so much harm. We were proud to support him in his Senate race and are confident his smart, committed policy prescriptions will lead to a growing number of bipartisan climate solutions that benefit his constituents.”

EDF Action PAC also supported the El-Sayed campaign with grassroots contributions, including deploying organizers from EDF Action and Clean Air Moms Action.
