EDF Action Votes spent $1.45 million in support of Rep. Elissa Slotkin’s elevation to the U.S. Senate
(Washington, DC – November 5, 2024) EDF Action congratulates Rep. Elissa Slotkin on winning election to the U.S. Senate from Michigan.
“Voters sent a strong message by elevating a climate champion like Elissa Slotkin to the Senate,” said David Kieve, president of EDF Action. “Senator-elect Slotkin knows that no one is better positioned to build the clean energy economy than the hardworking people of Michigan, and thanks to the leadership we know she’ll bring to the U.S. Senate, that vision is even closer to becoming a reality. We were proud to support Senator-elect Slotkin in her election and welcome her fearless and bipartisan leadership on climate solutions that benefit Michiganders.”
EDF Action Votes ran a $1.45 million digital advertising campaign supporting Slotkin in the open U.S. Senate seat, as she faced opponent Mike Rogers’ misleading attacks over her support for clean vehicle and battery jobs in Michigan.
EDF Action PAC also contributed grassroots support to mobilize climate voters in Michigan, including deploying organizers from EDF Action and Clean Air Moms Action to help Senator-elect Slotkin and other federal candidates win election and recruiting volunteers from among EDF Action’s membership.
