Work
Carol Andress is a senior lobbyist for EDF/EDF Action where she advocates Congress to defend environmental protections and build bipartisan support for national legislation to cut climate pollution. Carol’s work includes:
- Maximizing EDF/EDF Actions influence through close collaboration with other environmental and health advocacy organizations. A recent example is the 100% Clean Economy Act which has the support of 170 lawmakers and dozens of advocacy organizations.
- Successfully blocking Congressional efforts in 2017 to undermine rules to limit pollution from oil and gas operations.
- Advancing bipartisan climate legislation including the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 and the MARKET Choice Act of 2018.
Background
Prior to joining EDF Carol worked for the bipartisan Northeast-Midwest Congressional Institute where she worked on passage of the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990.
She received her degree in economics from Duke University and has over thirty-five years of experience in federal and state environmental policy. She lives with her husband and three children in Maryland.
