(Washington, D.C. – November 4, 2020) EDF Action congratulates U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) on winning re-election.

“Voters sent a strong message by re-electing Elissa Slotkin to Congress,” said EDF Action President Joe Bonfiglio. “Slotkin is a leader that Michiganders need in Washington as she fights for a cleaner future and healthier drinking water. We are proud to have supported Elissa Slotkin and her re-election bid because we know she’ll continue to fight for bipartisan environmental solutions that benefit her district.”

EDF Action worked to deploy grassroots activist through the Green Wave program, where the group had an on-the-ground organizer and mobilized EDF Action members for Rep. Slotkin’s re-election campaign. The Green Wave was a nationwide membership mobilization program done in partnership with the Sierra Club, NRDC Action Fund, National Wildlife Federation Action Fund and League of Conservation Voters where the groups helped to elect and re-elect pro-environment candidates in key battleground districts across the country.

Through GreenWave, Rep. Slotkin partnered with EDF Action for two virtual events: a youth phone bank and a Q&A event focused around the environment.
