(Washington, D.C., June 22, 2021) Today, the Senate failed to pass sweeping democracy reforms, after debate was blocked on the For the People Act voting rights bill. EDF Action Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Elizabeth Gore released the following statement:

“We are disappointed that the Senate wasn’t able to even debate the For the People Act, which would bring critical democracy reforms, ensuring everyone has the ability to cast a vote. The Senate must continue working to find a path forward on these essential reforms that strengthen the power of people in our democratic process. We, along with our members, are going to continue to fight for a fairer, more equitable democracy, because protecting our air, water and climate depend on it.”
