Poll: Key Voting Blocs Support the Build Back Better Agenda

It’s popular among moderates, Millennials, suburbanites and those without a college degree

(Washington, D.C., January 31, 2022) – EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, today released a national poll conducted by Morning Consult showing broad support for the Build Back Better Act across a variety of demographics including race, age as well as moderate voters, suburban voters, self employed voters and voters without a college degree.

Key Poll Findings:

• Three-in-five voters support Congress passing the Build Back Better Act, including 70% of millennial voters, 70% Hispanic voters, 74% black voters, 67% of moderates, 58% suburban voters and 54% of voters without a college degree.

• 63% of voters are more likely to support passing the Build Back Better Act because of the potential outcome to increase clean energy investments, including 68% of millennial voters, 65% of moderate voters, 61% of suburban voters, 71% of Hispanic voters and 67% of Black voters

• 62% of voters are more likely to support passing the Build Back Better Act because of the potential outcome to save households $500 on energy costs, including 69% of millennial voters, 66% of moderate voters, 61% of suburban voters, 69% of Hispanic voters and 65% of Black voters

• 62% of voters are more likely to support passing the Build Back Better Act because of the potential outcome to lower air and water pollution, including 67% of millennial voters, 64% of moderate voters, 60% of suburban voters, 70% of Hispanic voters and 67% of Black voters

• 59% of voters are more likely to support passing the Build Back Better Act because of the potential outcome to meet climate pollution reduction goals, including 68% of millennial voters, 64% of moderate voters, 58% of suburban voters, 64% of Hispanic voters and 66% of Black voters
