(Tampa, FL.- July 28, 2020) Today, EDF Action Votes will launch a new television ad focused on climate change, which is part two of a Tampa-focused $1.7 million campaign to defeat Donald Trump. The ad highlights Donald Trump’s climate denial and contrasts it with the military’s efforts to warn against the dangers of the climate crisis to American bases and security.

The TV ad, “Listen,” will start running on broadcast and cable today in the Tampa media market. This is the second climate-based television ad that EDF Action Votes has run in Florida opposing Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump has repeatedly ignored military leaders and intelligence experts across a range of issues, including climate change. These are among the most salient voices warning about the looming impacts that the climate crisis will have on our safety and security,” said EDF Action President Joe Bonfiglio. “Simply put, Donald Trump and his administration have spent the past four years sideling military and intelligence officials, leaving our country less safe than we’ve been in recent history.”
