This week, EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, began running ads in eight states promoting the job-creating power of clean energy and urging Congress to pass ambitious investments in America’s future. One of the new ads (example here) features Ivan Gonick, a U.S. Air Force veteran and founder of Veteran Solar. Gonick speaks to the ability of clean energy investments by Congress to boost business and create jobs.

“Veteran Solar is an example of the job-creating power of clean energy,” said Elizabeth Gore, EDF Action Senior Vice President for Political Affairs. “Congress needs to invest in America. If we seize the moment to create jobs, cut the biggest sources of pollution and help our communities, we can build a stronger, healthier future. It’s time to act.”

The campaign also includes an ad called “Jobs, Jobs, Jobs” (example here) highlighting America’s history of aggressive action to keep our economy strong.

In addition, ads will run in select regional outlets such as Radio One in Georgia, Telemundo Arizona, KTNN-The Voice of Navajo Nation, and social channels.

The ads urge Congress to go bold on climate solutions, naming clean energy supporters Rep. Tom O’Halleran (AZ 01), Rep. Lucy McBath (GA 06), Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA 07), Rep. Rep. Cindy Axne (IA 03), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI 08), Rep. Haley Stevens (MI 11), Rep. Susie Lee (NV 03) and Rep. Steven Horsford (NV 04). Upcoming ads will name senators.
