(West Palm Beach, Florida, July 22, 2020) EDF Action Votes launched a television ad highlighting Representative Brian Mast’s efforts to protect Florida’s air, water and coastline.

The approximately $100,000 TV ad, “Fighting for Florida’s Environment,” begins running on cable today in the West Palm Beach media market.

“Floridians want their elected officials to protect the environment and ensure everyone has clean water for drinking, fishing and recreation. Representative Brian Mast understands this, and that’s why he’s working across the aisle to find common ground on ways to fight for clean water by helping fisheries and coastline adapt, and working to ban drilling off Florida’s coasts,” said EDF Action President Joe Bonfiglio. “Mast is fighting every day to protect his district and community, and Floridians need him in Washington to help build a bipartisan coalition for progress on the issues that they care about.”

In Congress, Representative Brian Mast has worked to protect Florida’s water and coastlines. Rep. Mast’s environmental efforts include sponsoring bills to help the local fisheries adapt, protect Florida’s coastal blue carbon ecosystems by reducing carbon dioxide, and access funds to address the harmful algal blooms. He also co-sponsored a resolution that prioritizes innovation in the effort to tackle climate change and protect the environment. Mast also crossed party lines to support legislation to ban drilling off Florida’s coasts and he voted to protect the EPA’s mercury and air toxic standards.
