(Washington, DC – October 11, 2022) EDF Action Votes launched a four-piece mail program that opposes six State Legislative candidates who are running against pro-environment champions in HD-20, HD-29, HD-30, HD-36, HD-38 and HD-44. The mail pieces showcase to voters the extreme views these candidates hold, and how they’re beholden to the oil and gas industry.

“The New Mexico State House needs staunch champions like Meredith Dixon, Joy Garratt, Natalie Figueroa, Nathan Small, Tara Jaramillo and Kathleen Cates who will stand up for clean air, clean water and our environment,” EDF Action Votes Director of Political Programs in Southwest Anabel Maldonado said. “The stakes in this election are far too high for New Mexicans. Robert Salazar, Gregory Cunningham, Kurstin Johnson, Kimberly Ann Skaggs, Sandra K. Hammack and incumbent Jane Powdrell-Culbert have made it clear where their priorities lie – doing the bidding of Big Polluters instead of helping hardworking families lower costs and create the clean energy jobs of the future.”
