(WASHINGTON, D.C- June 3, 2019) Today, EDF Action launched digital ads thanking Senators Pat Roberts, Debbie Stabenow, John Thune, and Joni Ernst for their participation in the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Hearing on Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector. The hearing facilitated a productive conversation about the impacts of climate change and the opportunities available to implement climate-smart policies that boost soil health, facilitate smart conservation practices, and increase agricultural competitiveness.
“It was great to have these Senators talking about the intersection between climate change and the agricultural sector,” said Elizabeth Gore, EDF Action’s Senior Vice President, Political Affairs. “We hope to build on this progress by working to find common ground on policy opportunities that help farmers implement climate-smart strategies to increase food production, conserve our soil and combat the climate challenge head on.”
