(Las Vegas, NV – February 17, 2020) Today, EDF Action brought its melting popsicle campaign to Las Vegas, which emphasizes the need to address climate change in the presidential debates. The melting popsicle campaign will be showcased on a variety of platforms including digital ads, taxi cabs, multiple billboards around the city and on ride-sharing platforms.
This campaign was first launched at the Miami debates in June 2019, and since then, EDF Action has taken the paid ad campaign to four different cities while they hosted Democratic debates. Throughout the campaign, EDF Action has invested more than $185,000 to highlight climate change and the pressing need for bold climate solutions.
“Nevada voters care deeply about combating climate change and having our next president be ready with bold solutions to hit the ground running on day one,” said Joe Bonfiglio, President of EDF Action. “That’s why EDF Action is on-the-ground in Las Vegas, with billboards and digital ads as well as in taxi cabs and ride sharing platforms, to remind residents, candidates, moderators and debate attendees that we don’t have time to waste – we need climate action now. Candidates should use their time in Nevada and on the national debate stage to have a comprehensive climate conversation — how we can create jobs and transition to 100 percent clean economy.”
The digital ads and billboards will continue to use the image of a melting popsicle as a way to draw attention to the serious challenge posed by climate change.
