(Washington, D.C., November 10, 2021) This week, EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, is going back up with ads urging Reps. Tom O’Halleran (AZ-01), Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), Lucy McBath (GA-06), Carolyn Bourdeaux (GA-07), Cindy Axne (IA-03), Jared Golden (ME-02), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Haley Stevens (MI-11), Susie Lee (NV-03), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Henry Cuellar (TX-28), Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) and Filemon Vela (TX-34) to pass the Build Back Better Act. This bill is a commonsense piece of legislation that would lower energy costs and create jobs.
EDF Action and EDF have spent over $6 million on the Build Back Better ad campaign since late June. EDF Action also conducted a poll in September that showed broad support for clean energy and environmental protection in the agenda to build back better.
“Momentum for climate action is building,” said EDF Action Vice President of Campaigns Felice Stadler. “Last week the House passed the bipartisan infrastructure package with important climate provisions, and made a commitment to take up the Build Back Better Act when they return to Washington, DC, next week. We look forward to lawmakers completing their work by passing the Build Back Better Act. These bills together represent the largest climate investment we have ever made, which will create jobs, clean up our air and water and protect our planet for generations to come. It’s time to finish the job.”
