(Raleigh, NC- September 2, 2020) Today, EDF Action is announcing investments that will be made in legislative races across North Carolina from now until Election Day. These investments will be a mix of digital and mail programing in five state legislative districts: Senate district 31 and House districts 37, 45, 74 and 82.

The first mail program will start hitting mailboxes on September 2nd in HD 45 where EDF Action will highlight State Representative John Szoka’s leadership on clean energy in the state. The programs for the other districts highlighting State Representative Sydney Batch and candidates Terri LeGrand, Dan Besse and Aimy Steele as emerging conservation leaders will launch in late September.

“It’s critical that we have a durable pro-conservation state legislature in North Carolina,” said EDF Action Senior Manager, NC Political Affairs David Kelly. “That’s why EDF Action is getting involved in these important down ballot races – victories here will help to ensure that clean energy and resilient, healthy communities remain a top priority as our legislature works to rebuild our COVID-battered economy. These candidates will fight every day to build a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable economic future for North Carolina communities and families.”
