(Washington, D.C. – November 9, 2022) EDF Action congratulates Rep. Meredith Dixon (HD20), Rep. Joy Garratt (HD29), Rep. Natalie Figueroa (HD30), Rep. Nathan Small (HD36), Tara Jaramillo (HD38) and Kathleen Cates (HD44) on their victories.

“Voters sent a strong message by electing Meredith Dixon, Joy Garratt, Natalie Figueroa, Nathan Small, Tara Jaramillo and Kathleen Cates,” said EDF Action President David Kieve. “Their victories will ensure that conservation is a top priority in the New Mexico Legislature. We were proud to support Meredith Dixon, Joy Garratt, Natalie Figueroa, Nathan Small, Tara Jaramillo and Kathleen Cates and know they’ll fight for New Mexico families. We look forward to working with them in the State House to continue making climate progress and taking the next steps to ensure water security across New Mexico, including safe drinking water in our rural communities.”

EDF Action Votes invested a $188,000 mail campaign in support of these six State House incumbents and candidates. This comes on top of a $90,000 campaign to support pro-conservation candidates in the primaries earlier this year, including Rep. Susan Herrera (HD41), Rep. Andrea Romero (HD46), and Rep. Kristina Ortez (HD42). EDF Action Votes also contributed support to partners engaged in the effort to help re-elect Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.
