EDF Action today announced $250,000 in spending to support Representatives Bob Dold (R-IL) and Pat Meehan (R-PA), who have both taken stands to support legislation addressing climate change and other environmental priorities. Through mail and digital advertising, the effort will educated voters about the independent voting records that Reps. Dold and Meehan have shown on environmental issues.

“Bob Dold and Pat Meehan have made protecting the environment a priority: from supporting action on climate change and toxic chemicals, to opposing efforts to undermine common sense protections,” said Elizabeth Thompson, president of EDF Action. “We need leaders from both sides of the aisle to step up and protect our environment—Bob Dold and Pat Meehan have shown they are prepared to lead on these issues.”

Reps. Dold and Meehan have both supporting a number of efforts to protect the environment, including sponsoring bi-partisan legislation on climate change.

Earlier this cycle, EDF Action ran television ads supporting Republican Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), who also supports action on climate change. This comes on top of EDF Action’s efforts in other House and Senate races opposing anti-environment candidates.
