NEWS RELEASE

(Washington, D.C.- June 14, 2018) EDF Action today released the first in a series of ads hitting congressmen for voting in lock-step with President Donald Trump to cut clean air protections. The digital ads, which will be seen by audiences who disapprove of Trump’s policies, follow votes in the House Appropriations Committee to cut EPA’s budget, including clean air, clean water, and enforcement programs. The ads, which will run in heavy rotation for the next month, cite the Members’ unquestioning support for Trump, some voting with him as much as 98.6% of the time.

“These Members of Congress can’t vote for Trump’s reckless policies nearly 100% of the time and expect to keep the support of people — regardless of party — who reject Trumpism,” said Joe Bonfiglio, President, EDF Action. “They are going to have to choose between being a rubber stamp for Trump’s attacks on clean air, and the support of moderate constituents. They can’t have it both ways.”

The initial round of ads feature Appropriations Committee Members David Valadao (CA), Kevin Yoder (KS) and Scott  Taylor (VA). Watch the ads herehere and here. Additional members will be added as the campaign continues and votes are taken in the full House of Representatives.
