The California Legislature is considering an important set of bills that would establish California’s 2030 climate pollution targets, promote equity, and improve public health. Amendments to SB 32 (Pavley) and AB 197 (Garcia), which were published online over the weekend, demonstrate that the authors are working productively with Governor Brown’s Administration to provide final refinements to the bills.

“Passing these bills would demonstrate that our state is committed to achieving a stable climate. Reducing climate pollution will benefit all Californians, especially the most vulnerable. Ten years of climate action in California has shown that we can create environmental, economic, and public health benefits at the same time. More than two-thirds of Californians want to see more ambitious targets in place.”
