Capito Bill Will Undermine Clean Power Plan, Hobble Progress toward Clean Energy -- EDFAction

Sen. Shelly Moore Capito today unveiled legislation to undermine the EPA’s Clean Power Plan. Among other provisions, the bill would allow states to avoid implementing the plan, continuing the status quo of unlimited carbon pollution from power plants.

“The Clean Power Plan will reduce pollution, protect the health of American families, and address the serious threat of climate change. Sen. Capito’s bill would seriously undermine these important goals. This legislation would allow states to opt-out of clean air protections and hobble American’s progress toward clean energy. Instead of obstruction, Congress should be working to build a prosperous clean energy future”
